I'm glad I didn't recruit Manchester City...Day Strikers with markedly reduced scoring ability

Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi (29, Japan) has shown a noticeable decline in scoring, and he has also highlighted it in the local area. Furuhashi is a striker who Manchester City considered recruiting while looking for backup of Erling Holan (24, Norway) during the transfer market last summer.

Everything Celtic, which specializes in Celtic news, said on social networking service (SNS) on the 22nd (Korea time), "Furuhashi has scored only six goals in 15 games (11 starts) in the Scottish Premier League this season," adding, "What can we do to raise Furuhashi's scoring ability back to the highest level?"

Furuhashi has only one goal during six matches (five starts) not only in the SPL but also in the UEFA Champions League. At the Scottish League Cup, he played in two matches (two starts) and only scored one goal. Overall, his scoring ability has been showing poor performance this season.
Compared to the previous two seasons, Furuhashi has significantly reduced his scoring ability. In the last season alone, he scored 27 goals in 36 matches (31 starts) in the SPL. He has scored seven goals in a total of 14 matches (13 starts) in the UCL, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup. In the last season, he had 19 goals in 50 matches (42 starts) in all competitions.

Furuhashi has consistently received attention from big clubs, and Manchester City recruited him last summer because of his outstanding scoring ability. In fact, Manchester City selected Furuhashi after looking for a new backup for Holan when Julián Álvarez (24, Argentina), who played as a backup for Holan until last season, left for Atletico Madrid.

"Furuhashi, like Holan, has an intelligent movement and a sharp finish in the penalty box," British media Sky Sports predicted at the time. "Furuhashi is likely to take on Holan's backup role if he moves to Manchester City, but he will be able to perform well enough given his intelligent movements, fast speed, and a lot of activity." 스포츠토토

Manchester City, however, did not actually lead to negotiations, so recruiting Furuhashi became "nothing." Furuhashi is in his fourth season as he eventually stayed at Celtic. However, this season, unlike before, his scoring ability continues to be low.

Furuhashi has been playing for Celtic since 2021 after playing Vissel Kobe after making his professional debut in Gifu in 2017. Although his physical condition is not great, his biggest advantage is a one-on-one breakthrough with fast speed and daredevil dribbling, and he is said to have excellent on-the-ball ability and connection ability. He also faithfully performs forward pressure with his active activity.
